Fridy 73Representative Matt Fridy

Representative Matt Fridy was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives on November 4, 2014.

He graduated with honors from the University of Montevallo in 1998 and went on to attend Samford University's Cumberland School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2001. While at Samford, he served as executive editor of the Cumberland Law Review.

Representative Fridy is an attorney with the law firm of Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff, and Brandt.

He is a member of the Greater Shelby Chamber of Commerce and serves on its Board of Directors. He is past vice chairman of the Board of Directors of the University of Montevallo's National Alumni Association and was a founding member of its Junior Board of Directors.

In 2010, Representative Fridy was named the University of Montevallo's Young Alumni of the Year.

He is a former member of the Board of Directors of Hands On Birmingham and a founding member of that organization's Junior Board of Directors.

Representative Fridy is a former two-term chairman of the Shelby County Republican Party and currently serves on the Alabama Republican Executive Committee.

Representative Fridy and his wife Kimberly, a pharmacist, have five children; Jack, Beth, Cate, Emmy, and Carrie Mae.

They reside in Montevallo and attend Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where Representative Fridy serves an elder.
