Russell Bedsole (R) | 14th House District (Bibb, Shelby, & Chilton Co.)
Russel Bedsole, a Captain in the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, has been elected to represent House District 49 at the Alabama House of Representatives. This was the position of former Representative, April Weaver, who was appointed to the Trump administration in May of 2020. House district 49 encompasses parts of Shelby, Bibb, and Chilton counties.
Bedsole began is his law enforcement career in 1998 in Lee County, AL before joining the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in 1999. He also served as a Alabaster City Councilman for Ward 5, for the past 8 years, and works with Kenya Relief.
The Shelby County Legislative Delegation congratulates member-elect Bedsole on his win and looks forward to working with him to serve HD 49.
