Lance Bell represents Senate District 11.

Lance Bell is a life-long St. Clair County resident. Senator Bell practices law throughout the State of Alabama handling both plaintiff and civil defense matters as well as providing criminal defense services to his clients.

Senator Bell worked for the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department and District Attorney’s Office while obtaining his bachelor's and law degree. He has been recognized by the Director of the FBI for his dedication and contributions to law enforcement involving a joint federal and state kidnapping case. He was Chairman of the St. Clair County Republican Party for six years and is currently the Chairman of the 3rd Congressional District Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee. Senator Bell serves as the municipal judge for Ashville, Riverside, Childersburg, Ragland, and Ohatchee while prosecuting for the City of Pell City.

Lance and his wife Holly have two sons.

Senator April Weaver

April Weaver (Republican Party) is a member of the Alabama State Senate, representing District 14. She assumed office on July 14, 2021.

Weaver earned an associate degree in nursing from Shelton State Community College, a bachelor's degree in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama in 1993, and a Master of Business Administration from Independence University in 2006. Weaver's career experience includes working as the director of operations with Shelby Baptist Medical Center; and the director of public, community, and government relations with Brookwood Medical Center.

Senator Weaver first took office as the District 49 Representative in the Alabama State House of Representatives in 2010, where she served until 2020. She then resigned to serve as the Region Four Director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the Trump Administration. Weaver ran for the Alabama Senate District 14 seat in a special election in 2021, and won again in 2022 to begin her first full term.

Sen. Dan Roberts (R) | 15th District (Jefferson & Shelby Co.)

Sen. Dan Roberts was elected to the Alabama State Senate in the 2018 General Election.

He is a graduate of Auburn University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction. While in School, he was active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Auburn, and in the Auburn Student Government Association as a Senator, Vice President, and Moderator of Simulated Model United Nations.

After graduation, he worked for Blount International in Alabama, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. He earned a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development and Urban Affairs from Georgia State University. While in graduate school, he started a successful international trading company with an office in South Korea doing import and export work. After a season with Jim Wilson and Associates in Montgomery, he founded his own real estate sales and development firm in Birmingham.

He has served as a community leader with the Entrepreneurs Round Table, Alabama Policy Institute, Racerunners [serving as Chairman of the Board], Young Business Leaders, Campus Outreach International, College Golf Fellowship, and was the Chairman of the Board for Leachman Ministries in Great Falls, Virginia. He also coached baseball for all three of his boys and served as chaplain of the Auburn University Baseball Team. In 1998-99, Dan and Anne moved their family to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, to help launch Campus Outreach Brazil which works with college students.

He and his college sweetheart, Anne Griggs, have been married for 37 years and they have three sons, two daughters-in-laws, and six grandchildren. He and his wife attend Briarwood Presbyterian Church where Dan serves as an Elder, Briarwood Christian School board member, and Chairman of Briarwood Ballet.

Senator J. T. "JABO" Waggoner

Senator Waggoner, born in Birmingham, Alabama, on January 8, 1937, is serving his 8th term in the Senate after serving from 1966-1983 in the House of Representatives. Senator Waggoner received his BA degree from Birmingham Southern College and his JD degree from Birmingham School of Law. He and his wife, Marilyn, are the parents of four children and grandparents of seven and one great grandchild.Senator Waggoner is a Republican and a member of the Homewood Church of Christ.

He serves on the following boards: Executive Committee of Birmingham Business Alliance; Faulkner University Board of Trustees; Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitors Bureau; Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. He is a member of Hoover, Homewood, Shelby County, Vestavia Hills Chambers of Commerce; 50-Year member Civitan International; member of Masons and Shriners organizations; member of the Monday Morning Quarterback Club. He was inducted into the Birmingham Southern College Sports Hall of Fame, 2007, and received the Birmingham Southern Distinguish Alumni in 2013.

Senator Waggoner served as Senate Minority Leader from 2002-2010.

Senator Waggoner served as Senate Majority Leader from December 8, 2010 – 2014.

Senator Waggoner has the longest record of service, of any legislator in the history of Alabama.

Senator Waggoner is the Recipient of the Ronald Reagan Lifetime Achievement Award, 2012, and the 2013 Alabama State Council of the Arts Council Legacy Award.

He has also received numerous other awards and recognitions for his service in the Alabama Legislature.

Representative Corley Ellis is a life long resident of Shelby County and 1989 graduate of Shelby County High School.  After high school, he received an undergraduate degree in business and his Masters in Business Administration from Auburn University.

Prior to being elected to the Alabama House of Representatives, Corley served as the Shelby County Commissioner for District 1 for 10 years.  He was elected by his peers to serve as the Chairman of the Shelby County Commission for 2 years.  Corley is also owner of Ellis Properties, Inc. which is a real estate brokerage firm.

Through the years, Corley has served on numerous professional and non-profit boards including, The Jefferson and Shelby County Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, The Board of Directors for the CAWACO  RC&D, Shelby County Arts Council, Safehouse of Shelby County, The Assoc. of County Commissions' Public Works and Rural Transportation Steering Committee, The Assoc. of County Commissions' County Admin. Steering Committee, South Shelby Chamber of Commerce and many others.   

Corley was Chairman for the South Shelby Relay for Life and currently works closely with the American Cancer Society & Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on both of their fundraising efforts.

Corley is married to Julie Harris Ellis and they are the proud parents of a beautiful 5-year old son named Jamison.

Rep. Arnold Mooney is the son of Arnold and Lillian Mooney. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama where he attended public school and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. Following his high school, he attended Samford University in Birmingham and was subsequently awarded undergraduate and graduate degrees with highest honors in political science and history.

During his time at Samford he served as Student Government Association President and interned at the Alabama Legislature. He studied abroad at the University of Oxford (England), as a Rotary Scholar sponsored from the Rotary Club of Birmingham and as a Scottish Rite Foundation Fellow in post graduate study in the School of Government and Business Administration at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

His experience in government and political activities, comes from having served as a Staff Assistant for Alabama’s United States Senator James B. Allen, running Congressman Albert Lee Smith’s United States Senate campaign, as well as, Alabama legislative races for the House and Senate. He served as Chairman for the last 12 years of his predecessor’s Rep. Mary Sue McClurkin campaigns for Alabama State House District 43.

Rep. Mooney is a career Commercial Realtor, holding the CCIM designation, currently Associate Broker with Southeast Commercial Partners and formerly a Vice President with Colonial Properties Trust for 27 years. He is Life Member and Vulcan Award Recipient for Club of Excellence/Commercial Million Dollar Sales Club of the Birmingham Association of Realtors. Rep. Mooney boasts more than 30 years of experience serving small businesses and fifteen years of experience developing and implementing jobs programs through the Workforce Invest Board.

Rep. Mooney has been married to his wife Kelly for 31 years; has three grown children, a grandson, and a granddaughter. In November 2014, Rep. Mooney was elected to his first term in the Alabama House of Representatives.

Susan DuBose is the State Representative for District 45.

Representative Susan DuBose graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, Representative DuBose graduated from Springhill College with a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Representative DuBose has been very active in her community and her passions. She was the 2021 President of the Republican Women of North Shelby County and on the Executive Committee of the Shelby County Republican Party. Representative DuBose has been a board member and the former chairperson of the Distinguished Young Women of Shelby County, a member and former board member of the King’s Home Shelby Auxiliary, and the Chairperson of Caring for America Committee with the Daughters of the American Revolution. Russel Bedsole, a Captain in the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, has been elected to represent House District 49 at the Alabama House of Representatives. This was the position of former Representative, April Weaver, who was appointed to the Trump administration in May of 2020. House district 49 encompasses parts of Shelby, Bibb, and Chilton counties. 

Bedsole began is his law enforcement career in 1998 in Lee County, AL before joining the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in 1999.  He also served as a Alabaster City Councilman for Ward 5, for the past 8 years, and works with Kenya Relief.

The Shelby County Legislative Delegation congratulates member Bedsole on his win and looks forward to working with him to serve HD 49.

Representative Kenneth Paschal

Representative Kenneth Paschal was Elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in the July 13, 2021 Special Election.

Born in Tuskegee to Lumas and Betty Paschal Jr., Kenneth and his four siblings grew up in the small town of Eclectic, AL, where he graduated as “Mr. E.C.H.S.” in 1985 from Elmore County High School (E.C.H.S.). He went on to study Criminal Justice at Pierce College where he received the National Collegiate Minority Award, and then studied at the University of Alabama to earn credits toward his Bachelor of Science degree.

Kenneth served 21 years in the United States Army, earning the rank of First Sergeant. During this time, he received eleven awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He retired in 2006 to Shelby County and has been active in his community ever since. He is the proud father of Abigail, whose name literally means “a father’s joy.”

    Charter Member, Post Commander (2019-2020), and First Vice Commander of the American Legion Post 555 of Pelham.
    Appointed by the National American Legion Commander to serve on the National Executive Americanism Council for 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.
