Shelby County Legislative Delegation Support Locals' Contribution to Alabama's Bicentennial

On Tuesday, February 21, 2017, the Shelby Delegation presented Bobby Joe and Diane Seales of Shelby County with a donation to their pictorial history book, “Alabaster & Siluria The Early Years ~ A Pictorial History.” The book is a compilation of pictures from the Alabaster and Siluria areas and is being published in recognition of the Alabama Bicentennial.

“We are proud to support Bobby Joe and Diane and the hard work they put into this pictorial history book,” said Shelby County’s House Delegation Chair, Representative April Weaver. "They have tirelessly worked to preserve the history of Shelby County and we are excited that they have put this book together, so everyone can have a piece of that history in their homes. “

Bobby Joe Seales is an Ambassador to the Alabama Bicentennial Commission and is a former president of the Shelby County Historical Society. Under his leadership, Shelby County Historical Society became the largest historical society in the state.
